Ernest Paul (he used either name) Rochester was born in 1877 to Benjamin F. Rochester and Lois Bonney in Illinois. He was with his parents in Bath (Mason County) in 1880. In 1900 he was a boarder in Scott, Kansas. He married Alta B. Nichols. In 1905 they were in Scott with a two-year-old son. In 1910, with two children, they were in Alta's mother's home there. He served as an army officer in World War I. From at least 1920 to 1940 they were in San Antonio, Texas.They had five children. He died in 1949 in San Antonio and was buried in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.
