Robert Rockhould was born about 1612 in England.
Robert married Sarah Unknown (born in Holland). Their known children were:
Robert died before 30 July 1666 in Anne Arundel, Maryland, aged 53.
There are several early patent records in which Robert Rockhould claims a warrant for land. The earliest one is dated 1649 in which Robert claims land for transporting John Rockhould. This claims also indicates that Robert was deceased by 1666 as John Rockhould was the ward of Robert Burle by that year. [1] A 1659 warrant claims he transported himself, his wife Sarah and two sons named Robert and Thomas [2] Another patent mentions the name of a daughter, Sarah Rockhould Jr. [3]
Evidence indicates Robert made two different claims for land recorded in 1659. One was a 400 acre tract named Rockhold with a partner named John Scotiher, and located in Calvert County[4] The second claim, called Rockwould, was located in Anne Arundel County and taken up in the name of Robert & John Rockhould.[5]
