Myron married twice. His first wife was Mary Anne Lillibridge and they were married at Troy on13 Apr, 1826.[1] Myron and Mary Anne had eight children:
Nancy J. (Mrs. Joel Webster), Myron A., Warren A., Horace W., Mary E. (Mrs Ira Bement), Emma P., (Mrs. Frank L. Miller), Oscar H. and Ella E. (Mrs Marchael Llefler) [2]
Mary Anne passed away on 14 Apr 1876.
Myron married the widow Mrs. Elizabeth (Borden) Wilcox as his second wife in Stony Fork, Pennsylvania on 14 Sep 1876. [3]
Tri-Counties Genealogy & History by Joyce M. Tice includes the following clipping about Myron's 80th birthday.
--A party of about one hundred persons, seventy of whom were relatives, celebrated Elder Myron Rockwell’s 80th birthday in Roseville recently. The proceedings were very interesting and were greatly enjoyed by all present. Elder Rockwell has been a faithful laborer in the vineyard for the past generation, and has officiated at more weddings and funerals than any other clergyman in the county.[4]
Myron passed away less than a year later on 22 Jul 1885. He is buried next to his wife, Mary A Rockwell. [5]
Research Notes
Tri-Counties Genealogy & History by Joyce M. Tice, Clippings, Obituary, & Scrapbook Section repeats a mistake made in Myron's obituary. It states that his first wife was a Miss West [6] His first wife was Mary Ann Lillibridge. West was Mary Ann's mother's maiden name. [7]
Myron's Find A Grave does not include a gravestone photo. The text for his grave record borrowed from sources. Partway through it gets confused and makes it appear that his second wife Elizabeth married two more men with the last name 'Rockwell' one of whom was her brother-in-law. Neither of these men were related to Myron. Elizabeth's 1st and 3rd husbands were Simon Willcox & Benjamin Willcox. See her profile.
Boughton, on pages 247-248 has details for their 8 children. Their grandchildren begin on page 402.
