Biography

Susan Amanda Rockwell, daughter of William R. and Elizabeth (Porter) Rockwell, was born about 1859 in Hinckley Township, Medina County, Ohio. She appeared on the census of 6 July 1860 in the home of her parents at Royalton, Cuyahoga, Ohio.[1] She appeared on the census of 18 Aug. 1870 in the home of her parents at Delhi, Delaware, Iowa.[2]

She married Moses Short, son of William, about 1876.

She and Moses appeared on the census of 9 June 1880 at Delhi, Delaware, Iowa.[3] She and Moses appeared on the census of 4 June 1885 at Gage Valley, Howard, Nebraska.[4]

Amanda probably died about 1890. Her youngest child was born in 1887, Moses remarried in 1896.
