Biography

Richard was born on 25 September 1820 and baptised on 24 November 1822 in Ludgvan, Cornwall, England.^[1] As confirmed by the Census record cited below, he was the son of Richard and Mary Rodda.

In the 1841 census Richard (age 20) was in Ludgvan, Cornwall, England.^[2]

Research Notes

The following entries are to some extent speculative, and need further research to confirm them.

Richard's marriage to unknown Daniel was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1847 in the Penzance district.^[3] The query here is about the given name of his wife.

Their daughter Elizabeth's birth was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1854 in the Helston district.^[4] This records her name as Elizabeth Jane rather than Elizabeth Ann.

The nearest source for his death is in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1857 in the Helston district.^[5] The previous note on this profile had a very specific date of death which does not fit this record.
