Paschoal Rodrigues was born in Portugal.

Paschoal "Pascoal" Rodrigues was born in 1697 in the parish of Ponta do Pargo, in Madeira.^[1] He was the legitimate son of Amaro Rodrigues and Antónia "Anna" (Gonçalves Lagoa) de Ponte.^[1] Pascoal was given his name by his Godparents Domingos da Costa and Maria de Sequeira who were present when he was baptized on the 6th of April.^[1]

Pascoal married Luzia de Sousa on the 19th of August 1720 in the parish of Arco da Calheta.^[2]
