OBITUARY: It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, and dear friend, RAMON “HORKA” RODRIGUEZ, age 70, lifelong resident of La Mesa and a member of the Catholic Church.
“Horka”, as he was fondly known, entered eternal life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his home. He was born August 30, 1950, to Pablo and Estefana Rodriguez. Horka was a graduate of Gadsden High School and a certified Harley Davidson Mechanic. Horka, although quiet at times, was truly the life of the party. He loved to joke, laugh, dance, and have his beer. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and lived for his family and friends. Horka was known for his beard, his love of classic cars, and his love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
He was the greatest husband, father, and grandfather. You will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife of 42 years, Irene Rodriguez of the family home; three daughters, Vanessa M. Boisselier (Rudy) of Buckeye, AZ., Valerie Rodriguez of La Mesa, and Cynthia Rodriguez of Arlington, TX; his grandsons, Ezra and Esai Boisselier, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Rodriguez Jr., and sister, Hopie Cardenas.
Visitation for Mr. Rodriguez will begin at 10 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 353 E. Josephine Street in La Mesa where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. At his request cremation will take place and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, capacity of attendees will be limited and everyone is asked to please wear a mask. Thank you.
Serving as casket bearers will be Rudy Boisselier, Richard Rodriguez, Isaac Paul Rodriguez, Stephen and Jason Luna and Art Saenz. Honorary bearers will be Hector, David and Ruben Luna.
