Birth

Benjamin Roebuck was born on 11 January 1784 in Greenbrier, Virginia, USA.

Marriage

He married Elizabeth Jemima Russell (1791-1851, daughter of John Russell (1743-1822) and his first wife, Susannah Day (1749-1796). Benjamin and Elizabeth were married on 6 July 1807 on 6 July in Ross County, Ohio when he was 23 and she was 15.[1]

  1. Lorenzo Dow Roebuck born 9 August 1808 in Ross, Ohio, USA. Lorenzo married Lillian Ann Vinson, known as Lily (1810-1897, on 31 December 1829 in Ohio. He died on 6 September 1860 in Mercer County, Ohio, USA.
  2. Frances Roebuck born 6 October 1812 in Ross, Ohio, USA. Fanny married 1) Corbin Tullis (1806-1840) on 14 May 1835 in Mercer County, Ohio and 2) William Cain (1821-1878) on 13 November 1847 in Mercer County, Ohio. She died on 19 January 1883 in Celina, Mercer, Ohio, USA.
  3. Susan Roebuck born c. 1813 in Mercer County, Ohio, USA. She married Nicholas M. Shanklin (1808-1890). Susan died in c. 1845 in Mercer County, Ohio, USA.
