Ernestina Wilhelmine 'Minnie' Roepke born 13 March 1854 in Neu Grunau, Kreis Flatow, West Prussia.[1]
Minnie Roepke Klebs, born in Germany March 13, 1854, and died at Bertha November 6, 1923, having reached the age of 69 years, 7 months and 23 days. When but 15 years of age she came to the United States with her parents and they first settled in southern Illinois.
In Illinois she met J.C. Klebs, and they were married on May 2, 1873. They lived in Illinois until about 1877 when they moved to Glencoe, and in 1879 came to their farm in Germania, Todd county and she has been a resident of Todd county ever since.
Several years before her death, she made her home with her son, Peter, on the farm in Germania and the past three years in Bertha Village.
Mr. and Mrs. Klebs were the parents of six children, five sons and one daughter. One son died in infancy and the daughter died in young womanhood. The living sons are J.C. Klebs (Chris) and Paul C. Klebs of Germania townships, F. William Klebs of Delevan , Wis., and Peter Klebs of Bertha village. Mrs. Klebs was a devout Christian and a church member all her life. Though reared as a Lutheran, she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and of the Free Methodist church and when she came to Bertha she joined the Church of God.
The funeral services were held at the Church of God last Thursday November 8 and the remains laid to rest beside her husband who passed to the great beyond on 9 Sept 1884.
