Cundletown. (From Our Correspondent). Marriage bells have pealed since I wrote last. Miss Rosalie Roger (eldest daughter of the Rev. W. W. Roger, of North Sydney) became the wife of Mr. Walter Jarman, of our town. Prior to her marriage Miss Rosalie was entertained at a social gathering in the Methodist Church. The chair was occupied by Rev. S. A. Pill, who presided over the gathering in his usual capable manner. Miss M. Lee made the presentation to Miss Roger of a handsome pyrex casserole dish; while Miss D. Mathers presented the guest with a charming posy. Mr. Jarman responded on behalf of his fiancee, while the humorous remarks of the Rev. W. W. Roger brought smiles to many faces. Talented children from Cundle school supplied the musical programme, while the ladies of the church supplied dainty "eats" for young and old. |
