Clara (Rogers) Whitaker was born in Yorkshire, England.
Clara was born in 1883. Her parents were George Rogers and Hannah Mason. [1] Clara was christened on 28 March 1883 at St Phillip Church, Sheffield, Yorkshire.[2]
In 1891 Clara lived with her parents and siblings at 49 Cross Bedford Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire where her father was a grocer. [3]
In 1901 she was a domestic servant working at the Ship & Royal Hotel Clifton Street, Lytham, Lancashire. [4] Her parents had also moved to this area of Lancashire.
Clara married Ambrose Whitaker on 2 March 1903 at All Hallows Church, Bispham, Lancashire. [5] They had six children. One died in infancy and four of them eventually immigrated to the United States of America.
In 1911 the family were living at 98 Blyth Street, Wombwell, Yorkshire. [6]
When the 1939 register was taken Clara and Ambrose lived with their son at 6 Thompson Road, Wombwell, Yorkshire.[7]
