Biography

Oscar was born in 1881. He is the son of Thomas Rogers and Maria Hiltz. ^[1]

In the 1901 Census he was listed as being 19. The family religion was listed as Adventist. Family members were: Lemuel - 61; Maria -56; James -29; Nellie -26; Morie - 24; Wilfred - 17; Harold - 15; Abbie - 13; Cora - 10. ^[2] He married Emily Smith [ [Smith-44891 / Emily Smith] ] on 29 Dec 1910. ^[3]

In the1911 he was noted as being 28 and married to Emilie Rogers. ^[4]

In the 1921 Census of Canada he was 39 years of age and listed as a Blacksmith. ^[5] Oscar Rogers 39 Emily Rogers 31 Clifton Rogers 9 George Rogers 7 Millar Rogers 6 Dorothy Rogers 4 Helen Rogers 2 Sella Bennett 16

Oscar passed away in 1930 at age 49. ^[6] He died from a brain tumour. ^[7]

My Grandfather Oscar was a Blacksmith in Canning, Nova Scotia. He died of a brain tumour. He was the father of 9 children.
