the following was written by Arthur Rogers, himself, in his family album in 1968
"Born at Rotherham on 25th June 1896. Joined Corps of Dragoons 6th September 1914 and served with 7th Dragoon Guards in France and Belgium. Wounded at Cambrai 1917, then served for 39 1/2 years with Ministry of Labour. Retired 1958 to live in Killinghall, Harrogate. Elected to Parish Council 1964 and to Nidderdale Rural District Council 1965."
