Biography

Margaret Marion Rogers, daughter of Robert Rogers and Margaret Shand, was born 29 November 1899 in Glasgow. She was born at 5:20 in the morning. At the time of her birth, her parents were living at 8 Charlton Gardens, in Kelvin, Glasgow. Robert Rogers was a Mercantile Cashier, and he had married Margaret Shand on 18 December 1888 in Glasgow. ^[1]

Margaret spent her early childhood living at 8 Carlton Gardens, ^[2] but by the age of twelve, the family had moved to 203 Copland Road, in Goran, Glasgow, where Margaret attended school. ^[3]

Margaret married Alexander Breingan McNidder, a chip draughtsman, on 30 December 1930 in the Free Church at 8 Bellahouston Terrace, in Govan. Margaret was living at 203 Copland Road at the time, and working as a Mercantile clerkess. Upon her marriage, she moved into her husband's house, just down the road, at number 146 Copland Road. ^[4]

Margaret died on 13 September 1968 in Glasgow.
