George was Cherokee.

George Mitchell Rogers was born in 1841 in Georgia, the illegitimate son of Robert Rogers and Harriet Jenks.^[1][2]

He married Elizabeth Rebecca (Foster) Rogers (1844-).^[3] He and his family moved to the Indian Territory in 1886. They were the parents of:

Research Notes

He used at various times his mother's maiden name of Jinks, his step-father's name of Hunnicutt and his biological father's name of Rogers. Robert Rogers and Harriet Jinks were not married to each other. Harriet later married Edmond Hunnicutt.
