Thomas was born in 1792. He passed away in 1855/6. Famous locomotive builder in Paterson, New Jersey, including The General, involved in the Civil War Great Locomotive Chase. Almost all sources say he married just once, to Marie Small, but the transcript of the court case below and newspaper articles show that he also later married Elizabeth Smelligar, and had one daughter, Virginia Rogers, who married Henry Heinisch.
