Dorothy Frances Rogers, daughter of William Gladstone Rogers (Storekeeper) and Elsie Ruth Bradshaw, was born on 22 Aug 1899, in Lyell, Tasmania. ^{[1] [2]}

A very pretty wedding was celebrated on December 27, in the Methodist Church, Burnie, the bride groom being Mr E. J. Dobie, of the Education Department, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Dobie, Cormiston, West Tamar, and Miss Dorothy Rogers, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. G. Rogers, of West Burnie. The ceremony was performed bv Rev. F. T. Cleverdon, assisted by Rev. Norman Higgs, B.A. The church was tastefully decorated, and a large congregation that assembled to witness the ceremony was a tribute to the esteem in which the bride and bridegroom are held.

The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, and followed by the bridal party. Miss Morva Rogers (sister of the bride), Miss Vera Dobie (sister of the bride groom), and Miss Jean Gilbert, (cousin of the bride), with wee Miss Iris Maynard as maid of honor, and carrying a beautiful brocaded white satin cushion, a present from an old family friend. The groomsmen were Messrs. P. Clarke, D. E. Bradshaw (cousin of the bride), and N. L. Rogers (brother of the bride).

Dorothy Frances Dobie died on 21 Apr 1991, aged 91, and was was cremated at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery And Crematorium, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Her memorial plaque can be found at Derwent Gardens, NICHE WALL, 38 CENTRAL, Number 47, ROW C. ^{[5] [6]} Her memorial reads:
