George Henry also was a member of many organizations and societies in Ottawa. The list included: The Rotary Club of Ottawa; Fidelity Lodge, A.F. and A.M.; the Scottish Rite, Karnak Temple, (Shriners); Rockcliffe Lodge, I.O.O.F.; Derby Lodge no. 30, Sons of England; Ottawa Unity Protestant Benefit Society and Court Ottawa, Independent Order of Foresters.
Ottawa Hunt and Motor Club, Canadian Club, Rivermead Golf Club, and Laurentian Golf Club were all well represented at the funeral. There was a list of attendees at his funeral that was at least 6 inches long in the paper showing that he was a man who was well liked and well respected in Ottawa.
George Henry was a Public School Trustee for nine years and when he died that Ottawa Public School Men Teachers Club put an article in the November 27, 1919 Ottawa Journal paying tribute to him. He had requested that no flowers be sent and so rather than be seen as not having recognized his contributions they felt obliged to put an article in the paper publicly acknowledging his service to the Board. The Ottawa Journal on November 30, 1919 wrote an article about his funeral. They said that he had an exceedingly large procession the largest to wend its way through the city in many months and embodied representation of the Capitals population, young

Henry worked as a Commercial Traveller from 1887 1894 (confirmed) and possibly before that as well. He then opened the G. H. Rogers Funeral Home at 128 Bank Street, Ottawa. He remained at that address until 1912 when he moved the business to 283-285 Laurier Ave. W. going into partnership with George Burney. He died in 1919 and the business moved to 254 Cooper in 1920.
