Biography

Newspaper obituary: Alois Rohr, 59-year-old former Millstadt resident, died of a nervous disorder at 7:30 o'clock last night in the Alton State Hospital where he had received treatment for 20 years. Mr. Rohr was born in Stookey Township, a son of Nick and Margaret Rohr, nee Haas, on April 26, 1876. His parents also were natives of Stookey Township. They are dead. He leaves eight brothers and sisters, Richard Rohr of Millstadt, Mrs. Tillie Ross, who resides two miles south of Millstadt: Alfred Rohr of St. Louis, Mrs. Rosa Huber of Teutopolis, Ill., John Rohr of Millstadt, Felix Rohr, Mrs. Paulina Jones And Jule Rohr of Belleville. The funeral will be held Friday morning from the Strauss-Alberter Funeral Home in Millstadt to the St. James Catholic Church there. Rev. Henry Alberg, the pastor, will sing a requiem high mass. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery in Millstadt. The time of the funeral has not been determined.

Alois never was married.
