Biography

The following is taken from Pam Ripplinger's Descendants of Mechiar Hunsaker ( AAtwins94@@aol.com):

"Notes for JACOB ROLAND:

JACOB ROLAND: from a book: The DESCENDENTS OF JESSIE (ROLAND)ROWLAND of Warren County, Kentucky, with the CRAWFORD, ISBELL, and KERBY FAMILIESand OTHERS by Col. Robert J. Owens, USAF, RET.

Jacob, son of Gasper Roland and Mary Hunsaker, was married to Mary Keithly. In 1766, Joseph bought land in Fredrick County, Maryland, amounting to 688 acres. In 1777, he gained more land there. But by 1778, he was found in Rowan county, North Carolina, along with Gasper Roland, John Roland and Daniel Hendricks. The 1779 records show his improvements of Gasper's tract adjoining Daniel Hendricks. During November an inventory of Jacob Roland's estate named his widow, Mary, as having married Jonas Hann. Mary was the daughter of Samuel Keithly of Pennsylvania. Jacob and Mary's children were Gasper and Francis. After the death of Jonas Hann in 1836, Mary married Christian Sears Sr. Some have said that Jacob and Mary had a son Jacob. See Daniel Roland 241 for information (refers to book page).

Jacob married Mary Keithley, daughter of Samuel Keithley, in 1772 at Frederick County, Maryland. Mary had a second married to Jonas Hon.

Jacob died 1779 at Rowan County, North Caroliona
