1920 Census shows him as age 5 living in Freedom, Outagamie, WI with parents Jos. & Anna; brothers John & Clemmens; and sisters Mathilda, Pauline, Florence, Mary, Gladys & Lillian. Surname was misspelled as Romensko on the form.

1930 Census shows him as age 16 living in Freedom, Outagamie, WI with mother Anna, brothers John & Clemmens; and sister Lillian.

1940 Census shows him as age 26 living on County Trunk V near Highway 54, Oneida, Outagamie, WI with wife Ruth, son Duwayne and daughters Alvera & Lavarna. 1935 Residence was rural Outagamie. Occupation was farmer.

Buried at St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery, Mackville, Outagamie, Wisconsin

SSDI listed last residence as Shawano, Wisconsin, but death certificate was issued in Lake County, Florida showing date of death as 17 Dec 1989. Obits from the Appleton Post Crescent & Orlando Sentinel seem to indicate after retirement he divided his time between Shawano, WI and Leesburg, FL

Appleton Post Crescent, December 18, 1989 Walter M. Romenesko, "Romy", formerly of Freedom and Twelve Corners, presently of N2723 Lake Dr, Shawano, Age 75, passed away Sunday, December 17th, 1989 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 4th, 1914, in the town of Freedom. Mr. Romenesko has been married to his wife, Ruth Vandenheuvel for 52 years. Walter was in farming and trucking and founded Romy's Nightingale in 1963. He was a member of the St. Edward's Catholic Church, Mackville. Survivors include his wife Ruth; five sons and daughters and law; Wayne (Romy) and Evelyn, of Black Creek; Orin (Butch) and Linda, of Appleton; Vernon and Karen, of Menasha; Harlan (Bing) and Cathy, of Appleton; Ivo and Lorene, of Charlottesville, Virginia; three daughters and sons in law: Vera and William Hofacker; LaVon and David Wilson; Janet and Kenneth Frederickson, all of Appleton; a brother and sister-in-law, Clem and Alice Romenesko, of Appleton, three sisters, Lillian Vandynhoven; Florence Vandynhoven; and Marion Vandersteen, all of Kaukauna; 30 greandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Darrel in 1986; a grandson, Bud Hofacker; a brother, John; three sisters: Gladys Thurner, Mathilda Hietpas, Pauline Endres. The complete funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday December 20th, 1989 at St. Edward's Catholic Church Mackville, burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Survivors: wife, Ruth; daughters, Alvera Hofacker, Lavon Wilson, Janet Frederickson, all of Appleton, Wis.; sons, Duwayne, Black Creek, Wis., Butch, Vernon, Bing, all of Appleton, Ivo, Charlottesville, Va.; sisters, Florence VanDynHoven, Lillian VanDynHoven, Marion VanDerSteen, all of Kaukauna, Wis.; brother, Clem, Appleton; 32 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
