Tecla was born about 1860[1] to Juan Romero and Macedonia Benavidez. In 1883 she married Diego Rodriguez[2] but no known children were born. In 1920, she was listed as a widow on the US Census and was working as a servant.[1]
Research Notes
There is a record on 6 Oct 1882 that looks like a marriage was performed for Diego and Tecla, but for some reason, it was not legitimate and the wedding was postponed to 11 Mar 1883.[3] Also, both records point out that Tecla is related to Anselma Ortiz through her mother. Possibly an impediment was found related to that relationship.
