Franklin Lafayette Rominger was a Civil War soldier. He got pension for military service.

Confederacy, Taylorsville, Tennessee. 1 NOV 1962. Service: Civil War, Union. Service: AWOL - Company Muster Roll of 6th NC. Cavalry 65th Reg't G, North Carolina Volunteers. BET JUN AND DEC 1863. Service: 46th Reg't Illinois Infantry, Olney, Illinois. 27 FEB 1864.

Franklin Lafayette Rominger was the fourth of seven known children of Joshua Rominger (1808-1902) and Mary B. Hubbard Rominger (1818-1897), who married 15 Sep 1834 at Cumberland County, North Carolina.

Franklin married three times: 1) to Mary Jane Oliver (1843-1894) on 12 Jan 1862 at Johnson County, Tennessee; 2) to Sarah L. Gervin (1859-1914) on 09 Aug 1894 at Washington County, Tennessee; and 3) to Lorena Smith (???-???) on 18 Mar 1915. It is not known where his first or third wives are buried.

Franklin and Mary were the parents of ten known children, all girls!

Omah (Leoma?) Rominger (1869-(1912?)) 6. Anna Victoria ("Vic or Victoria) Rominger Wilson (1874-1952) (note: is Victoria really a member of this family?) 7. Isabelle Rominger Miller (1875-1956) 8. Lucinda "Lou" Rominger Knight (1876-1969) 9. Jeanette Rebecca Rominger Belton (1877-1966) 10. Laura Elmira Rominger Leonard (1877-1964)

Franklin lived in National Soldier's homes off and on for many years. He originally joined the Confederate forces during the Civil, but is reported to have deserted, walked to Olney, Illinois and enlisted in the Union Forces, for whom he fought the rest of the war.
