DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jean by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jean:
Rondot dit Orleans-1 and Rondot-4 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates. The LNAB should be RONDOT, with AKA Orleans. The death place is probably best represented as just Louisiana, New France. The burial record says Deceased among the Houmas while descending from Pointe Coupee.
I don't think it was possible for Pierre Rondeau and Marie Asselin to be the parents of this Jean. If he was a native of Canada certainly but since his origin is Auvergne, it isn't a possibility. Pierre was born in Larochelle on the coast of France whereas I believe Auvergne was or is(?) more to the east.....
I am a descendant of this family and wonder if you might share the source that names Jean's parents? This has long been a brick wall of mine, and any factual documentation would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!
