Major James Rooke was the son of Maj.-Gen. Heyman Rooke. He m.(1) Lady Mary Tudor, daughter of Charles II Stuart, King of Great Britain and Mary Davies, on 26 August 1707 and (2) Jane Catchmay, daughter of Tracy Catchmay and Barbara Bray, on 3 July 1735.
