Last evening as 'Trum' Lemonier was driving into town about 6:30 o'clock with his load of goods from Syracuse, which he brings every day, an accident happened which may cost him his life. The team was seen running and were stopped by some boys. When the boys looked for Mr. Lemonier they found him under the sleigh, very badly bruised. His face and head are cut very badly and his right ear was ground nearly off. Dr. Heaton was called to dress the wounds. Mr. Lemonier is not able to tell anything about how it happened. He complains of a pain in his chest, but it is not possible for Doctor Heaton to tell if he is internally hurt. Unless he is internally injured it is thought he will live." [27]
