Reference: FB47/G2/183 Title: Letter Description: From Benjamin Thrower, of St. Mary-Le-Bone, London, to Isaac Last, Jr., of Debenham, enclosing a copy of the settlement examination of Samuel Roper, a private in Coldstream Guards, dated 20 March 1815, and his bill for attending the settlement 22 Mar.1815


Samuel Roper is wrongly showing as the sound of Samuel Roper & Martha Martha Benham born Kenton appx 1750. That Samuel was married to Sarah Corbell 1804 Debenham & produced Rachel 1805 Debenham & Hannah 1806 Kenton. That Samuel senior was born 1741 & died Melton workhouse in 1820.

Research Notes - Currently working on the theory that Samuel might be the son of Robert Roper and Sarah Good married 1755 Monk Soham. There is currently one public DNA Ancestry connection to support this & another private hidden tree showing a possible connection to the Ropers of Monk Soham.
