Biography

Note: John Peter Roper was born about 1824 to John George Roper and Margaret Crammer in East Royalty, PEI. He inheirited his father's farm, John George Roper. John Peter Roper married later around age 40 to Mary Crawford Kelly and they were married 25 years when he died. Mary was about 20 years old when she married. They had nine children. Seven daughters and two sons. His son, Leslie Huestis Roper ended up working the farm sometime after 1912 as he was married and living in Boston for a time. John Peter's other son, George Oliver Roper resided in the vicinity of Boston. A Census showed George O. Roper in South Braintree, Massachusetts at age of 69 years in January 1943.

The children's names are: Emily May Roper; Annabelle Irene (Roper) O'Neill; Mary Victoria Roper, George Oliver Roper, Leslie Huestis Roper; Helena Crawford Roper, Priscilla Beatrice Roper; Winnifred Bertha Roper, and Mildred Madeline Grace Roper.

Note: John Peter Roper's is the uncle of Francis Henry Auld. John Peter Roper's sister is Susannah Roper married to John Auld and Francis Henry Auld is their son. Francis Henry Auld's granddaughter, Mary Isabell Auld Married John Peter Roper's grandson, Leslie John Roper.

NOTE: John Peter Roper's great granddaughter, born to Leslie Joh Roper and Mary Isabell Roper married a Chowan cousin from the Sara Roper-John Dixon line of our ancestor, Daniel Roper and Susannah.

Note: Leslie Heustis Roper son of John Peter is first cousin to Francis Henry Auld. His son Leslie John Roper married Mary Isabell Auld.
