Biography

He held lands in Ryngburgh (Ringburgh, in Holderness), [1] Garton (Garton in Holderness), [2] Routh (in Beverley),[3] Aldeburgh (Aldbrough, in Holderness) [4] and Grymston (Grimston, in Holderness) [5] at the time of his death. [6] All in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Notes

  • I put his place of death as the East Riding of Yorkshire, since this is where most of his lands were located. But it is just a guess. Hennings-109 20:47, 9 January 2018 (EST)
  • I estimate he was at least 30 years old, since he had teenage sons when he died. This puts his date of birth as 1321 or earlier. It could be substantially earlier. Hennings-109 20:47, 9 January 2018 (EST)
  • Ringburgh is mentioned in the Aldbrough entry. It has not existed as a village for close to two centuries. [4]
  • Garton in Holderness is an alternate name for Garton. [2]
  • Garton and Grimston make up 2/3rds of the civil parish of East Garton. [7]
