Biography

David was born in 1932. He was the son of Samuel Rose and Mabel Violet (Dowdle) Rose. He was named after David Rees Williams to create a connection to that family.

Middle Name Reece is a miss-spelling of maternal grandfather's name David Rees Williams by Samuel jr at Registry Office. This connection was considered necessary as there may have been more Mary Agnes (Smith) Michie money offered.

Early childhood moving with fathers postings in Rural then Commonwealth Bank. Primary school at Toowoomba southern Queensland.

1939-1945 War years as teenagers spent at 47 Glasgow Ave. Bondi, near both sets of grandparents. The boys are mostly at the beach while Samuel is at war as most boys at that time refuse to be taught by female teachers.

May 1942 Aunty Dorothy Nicolson lives with her husband Roy in Mudgee. This is where Bob & David are driven after Japanese bombing of Sydney Harbour.^[1][2]

1948 Firstly David worked in David Jones white goods repair department then most of his career spent at St George Ranges white goods factory rising from salesman to supply manager.<Maxine>

1988 St George Ranges went bankrupt due to a lack of innovation. 56 year old David lost all his long service entitlements.^[3]

David passed away in 2013. Cause of death; Renal failure secondary to Multiple Myeloma.^[4]
