Clifford was born in 1902 to Albert and Hilda.[1] His marriage license says he was born in Cascade, New York but some Census records say Pennsylvania.[1][2]
He married Helena Goldsmith in 1923 in Deposit, New York, though both lived in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.[1] They had at least six children: Prudence (b. 1925), Roland (b. 1926), Phyllis (b. 1928), Gordon (b. 1936), Kay (b. 1939), and Sandra (b. 1940).[3] Roland died in 1942 at 16 under unknown circumstances.[4][5]
Clifford was a machinist at the time of his marriage.[1] In 1940, he was a shoe store manager.[3]
Clifford died in 1965 and is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, New York.[6][7]
