Biography

It is not known whether Jonah Rosenbaum survived the Holocaust.

Auschwitz deportation records show that Hersl Rosenbaum, son of Jankiel Rosenbaum and Syma Pakler, and his wife Rachel Katz were arrested and sent to Auschwitz on 31 Jan 1943.

A name search for Pakler surname shows most similar names were spelled Pekler or Perkel.

Taxpayers from Estates, Pruzhany shows Rozenbaum, Jankel, patrynomic Shmuilovich.

Real Estate Owners records show that Jankel Rozenbaum (Schmuilovich) owned two properties, one in 1912 and one in 1910 on Derechynskaia street

Implies his father was likely Schmuel, since this is the patrynomic on the two references I found for Jankel Rozenbaum in Pruzhany.

Business Directories 1930 Pruzhany Uyezd show Rozenbaum J, Windmills, on Mlynerska St. (Son Tzvi was a miller, so this makes sense.)

Possible information on father and grandfather of Jankel (from Thompson-85845 18:46, 5 January 2024 (UTC)). He was recorded in the town of Pruzhany in the 1883 rabbi election. He was not found in Pruzhany in the 1858 list of men, but 36-yr old (b.~1822) Shmuel Shlioma was in Malech, ~20 km from Pruzhany. Shmuel Shlioma's patrynomic was Gershkovich. Ghershko Rozenbaum from Malech was listed as elected in 1837. He was 56 years old (b ~1781).
