Biography

Clara Rosenhain was born on 21st December 1868 at Berlin, Brandenburg, Prussia. She was the younger daughter of Moritz Rosenhain and Frederike Fink.

She married Stephen Chalmers in 1903 at Hampstead, London, England.[1] There would seem to be little doubt that Clara's brother, Walter, and Stephen knew one another or even worked together, as they both worked with optical glass.

Clara and Stephen had three children:

  • John Alan Chalmers (1904-67)
  • Bruce Chalmers (1907-90)
  • Marian Chalmers (1914-86)

She passed away, aged 78 years, on 20th November 1947 at Durham City, County Durham, England.[2]

Rosoenhain-1 and Rosenhain-4 appear to represent the same person because: I have inadvertently duplicated Clara Rosenhain's profile, Gaye. I am certain that these are the same person, although birth and death dates are different. You may have more information than me, so I am happy to go with your profile's dates. Clara was a sister-in-law of General Sir John Monash; who is now connected through Stephen Chalmers. Regards, Ken
