YORK - Cleo M. (Roser) Rode Olsen, 89, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Curtis Rode and John K. Olsen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with her pastor, the Rev. Dan Biles, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Mrs. Olsen was born on July 16, 1923, in Springfield Township, a daughter of the late Daniel H. and Leafy M. (Warner) Roser. She retired as the Superintendent of the German Orphans Home in Washington, D.C. and prior to that had been employed as a seamstress at the former Seven Valleys Garment Company. She was formerly of Springhill, Fla., prior to moving back to York in 2007. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spring Grove and was a past worthy Matron and member of the Order of the Eastern Star #76 in Brooksville, Fla. Cleo is survived by a sister, Adella M. Shaffer of York; a brother, Dale L. Roser of Spring Grove; three step-children; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
