Rites Monday For The Late Guy C. Roser
Guy Clement Roser. well-known insurance representative and more recently a deputy Internal Revenue Collector of 24 East Third street died Friday evening at 6 o'clock at the Frederick City Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday. Death was due to complications following illness extending over 16 months. He was 65 years of age. He was a son of the late Adam and Jane Delaplaine Roser and was born near Woodsboro. He moved to Frederick when thirteen years of age and was employed at the John D Hendrickson dry goods store for 22 years. He then accepted employment as a representative of the New York Life Insurance Company and later was named special agent of that company for Frederick County. In that capacity he developed an extensive business for the company from an original clientele of ten policy holders. He also employed a number of agents for the company in Frederick County.
Prominent Mason For the past three and a half years he .has been- a deputy collector for the Bureau of Internal Revenue, being stationed in this city. He was a member of Lynch Lodge. No. 163. A. F. and A. Masons; a Past High Priest of Enoch Chapter. No. 23, R. A. Masons; s Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Enoch Council, No. 10, R. and S. Masters; a past Eminent Commander of Jacques DeMolay Commandery. No. 4, Knights Templar; a Past Venerable Master. Frederick Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite: Past Patron, Order of the Eastern Star, Frederick Chapter, No. 79: a member of the Past Matrons and Patrons Association of Frederick. He was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, having served as a member of the church council, and was a member of the Martin Luther Bible Class of the Sunday School. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clara Davis Roser; the following brothers, Evan D., Coral Gables, Fla.; Hugh E.. Harrisburg, Pa.. John O., Scotia, N. Y.: three nephews and four nieces. The body is at the funeral home, 8 East Patrick street; where friends may call. Funeral there Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, services being conducted by Rev. W. V. Garrett. Interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. C. E. Cline and Son, funeral directors.
