Elmer Oscar Ross was born on September 8, 1887, in White Rock Twp., (the town was named Jane in about 1930) Missouri.[1][2] He was the son of Ab Ross and Margaret Sneed. He was the 10th child of 12 children. The family lived on a farm in White Rock Twp. McDonald Co., Missouri. He was 12 yrs. old living with his parents and five siblings in 1900.[3]
He married Nola "May" (Buttram) Ross on December 21, 1910, in Neosho, Newton Co., Missouri.[4] They had two children during their marriage.
They had a farm In White Rock Twp. McDonald Co., Missouri. In the 1920, they were living on the farm with the girls and his mother-in-law, Marilda "Vilda" (Carden) Buttram, age 57.[5]By 1930 at age 42, they had his Father, Ab Absalom Ross, age 84 living with them and their two daughters.[6]In 1940 it was just the two of them at age 52 and 49, living on the farm.[7]
His wife Nola "May" passed away on January 1, 1960, in Jane, Missouri, at the age of 69. They had been married 49 years.
After May’s death he married Mrs. Nancy Clifton, Johnson, Holland on may 15, 1960.
He died on February 15, 1973[8], in Pineville, Missouri, at the age of 85, and was buried in the Jane Cemetery, Jane, Missouri.[1]
