According to Boyd Crumrine's "History of Washington County, Pennsylvania with Biographical Sketches of Many of Its Pioneers and Prominent Men", John Ross was the son of William Ross and Nancy McCoy, both natives of Scotland who immigrated to America in 1772 and eventually settled in Finley Twp., Washington Co., Pennsylvania.
Also according to this same biography, Alexander, one of seven children. He married Elizabeth McDaniels and the lived and died in Washington County.[1]
