Pauline (Ross) Wilson grew up in Belton, TX. She spent her early married years in Littig, TX as the wife of a sharecropper and railroad laborer. In 1947, the family moved to Austin, TX - and lived on East 17th Street, until the latter years when she and her husband moved into the home owned by their son, Corinthus. Due to racist actions at the nearest hospital, he had to be driven over an hour and he arrived at the nearest "colored hospital" and survived only a few days, dying of pneumonia.
