Charles E. Ross, of St. Johns, died there today, word to that effect being received in Ionia by his nephew, Bernard R. Ely. Mr. Ross lived in Ionia for several years, during which time he was a member of the Ionia lodge of Oddfellows and the Ionia Presbyterian church, retaining the membership until his death. At one time he was also superintendent of the Presbyterian Sunday school here, and a tinsmith by trade was employed at both Ireland and Ionia Hardware company. He moved to St. Johns about three years ago where he was working in a factory.
Two months ago he underwent a serious operation, from which he failed to recover. He was about 50 years of age and leaves a wife and two daughters.
His early home was at Muir and the funeral will be attended at 1:30 from the Muir Presbyterian church, burial at that place.
