"He was a merchant and marble engraver at Newark. He married in Sussex Co, N.J. 3-2-1839, Jane Stevenson, daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Lusk) Stevenson of Upper Canada. She was born 12-5-1820 and died 9-21-1895, Lehi, Utah. Per the 1850 Census Jane and her children were at Newark with her mother-in-law, Elizabeth H (Ross) Pratt. Soon after they went to Council Bluffs and in 1852-3 to Lehi, Utah. Jane married 2nd 2-2-1852 William Clark and had children. Children of Stephen and Jane:
1879. John Edgar born 1-13-1840 Newark, N.J.
1880. Stephen Weeks, born 4-12-1841 Newark, N.J.
1881. Sarah Elizabeth born 4-23-1843 Newark, married 3-21-1863 James Jackson Lamb and died 10-5-1927.
1882. Adrian Valarius born 6-18-1846 and died 2-5-1849 Newark, N.J.
1883. Samuel born 3-18-1850 and died 4-2-1850." [1]
