Married 6 May 1805 • Jihlava, Jihlava, Vysočina, Czech Republic

Life Notes: Johann, a master clothier, was born and married as Roth. His surname fluctuates between Roth and Rott from 1744 (his uncle’s baptism and first record found) until 1812, when it finally appears to settle on Rott (each of his children is named as shown on their baptism record). Johann appeared to move frequently. He was born in house #88 [Source: Baptism Record]; lived in house # 580 by 1804 [Sources: son Johann’s 1804 Death Record; first wife Anna’s Death Record; Franz’s Baptism Record; Franz’s Death Record; son Johann Nepomuk’s Baptism Record]; by 1810, he lived in house # 95 [his father died here 12 years earlier; Source: Theresia’s Baptism Record]; in house #86 in 1812 [Source: Johanna’s Death Record]; in house #84 (may be the same house renumbered) in 1813 [Source: Theresia’s Death Record]; and in #126 when he died [Source: his Death Record].
