Infos

May 1st, 2020: I have started a ROTHE surname project; please join me in researching this name!

November 11th, 2020: The ROTHE project did not really start as I regret. My health and ability to concentrate on that was not strong enough to follow my aims in this case until now. I hope to get further in the beginning of 2023. Please be a bit patient with me.

August 8th, 2023: I was told that I am now part of the "great wiki tree" :-) Thanks for Your participation at this fine work, especially Sven Elbert for the "missing link"! Thanks to Florian Straub for informing me so soon!

June 2nd, 2024: Although I have a lot to do regarding my own family tree, I am busy with the ancestors and followers of Karl Baedeker, author and traveller in one person.

For me man (and woman of course) is a traveller - just from the beginning.

So: leaving Lord´s playing ground is only a small step for a man but...

Have fun!

Hallo Detlef,

I think that it's just silly to enter all the names and dates of my ancestors by hand. Why can't I use my uploaded GEOCOM file - it will be deleted soon; so it will not be of any use for you and me. Sigh!

You can use your uploaded GEDCOM file to create one profile after another, but you have to confirm all the potential matches of that file with existing profiles, before you will be able to do that. On the other hand those GEDCOM generated profiles contain so many useless items after import, which will lead to a need of editing them afterwards anyway. Maybe it's easier to just create them by hand. This might also be a great chance to verify your existing data for missing sources, inconsistencies etc. But I assume you found out about all this in the meantime, because you're still editing here. Thank you for staying!
