Henry was born in 1813. He was privately baptised on the 19th November 1913 at the parish church in Fremington as the son of George and Dinah Rattenbury. His father's occupation is recorded as a labourer.[1]
In 1835 he married Fanny Jane Hill. The record states that Henry Rottenberry was a bachelor and sorjouner of 'this parish' and was married by banns. Witnesses were Robert Fishley and Samuel Reed.[2]
In 1841 he was living with his family at Bickington, Fremington, Devon as a mason under the name Rottenberry[3] and 1851 at the same address as a cripple (formally a mason) under the name of Rottenbury.[4] In 1861 he is still living in Bickington Village, Fremington, Devon as an invalid, formally a mason under the name of Rottenberry.[5]
He passed away in 1863. He was buried on the 2nd December 1863 at Fremington, Devon, England. The entry is recorded at Henry Rottenberry aged 50 years.[6]
