There are two difficulties with the case of Ragenold: firstly, the gap of 20 years during which no record has been found of his activities, and secondly his marriage, apparently his first as there is no record of an earlier marriage or of any children born to an earlier wife, when he would have been in his late 40s. It is possible that there were in fact two individuals named Ragenold, although if this hypothesis is correct there is no indication of the origin of the second Ragenold.

As currently linked, all of Roucy-7's children were born after he died. There's obviously a son of this Renaud, who married Alberade, missing. Did he get merged into -7?

Also, isn't this really the historical Champagne province of France, see Wikipedia, Historical Provinces of France? It's now Champagne-Ardennes. It's to the NE of Paris, not in Aquitaine, or Provence, or any of the other parts of France that other profiles put it in.

  • Not a child of Heribert II, Count of Vermandois, Meaux and Soissons. ... but somehow, some family of Renaud de Roucy were merged with the Vermandois line.
