Biography

James Rounds was born in 1814 in England to parents Cornelius and Elizabeth Rounds.[1]

He married Sarah Chambers on March 14, 1848 in Norwich in the Brock District, Canada West (Ontario), Canada. They both lived in Norwich.

At some point after 1866 (when son Robert was born), his family moved to Michigan in the United States.

The 1880 United States census recorded James at age 66. He was a laborer in Moore Township, Sanilac County in Michigan and lived with wife Sarah (age 55) and son Robert (age 14).

James Rounds died on March 9, 1882 in Moore Township, Sanilac County, Michigan, United States.[2] James was a farmer and had aged 67 years, 9 months, and 16 days. Cause of death was congestion of lungs.[3] He was buried in Moore Township Cemetery in Snover, Sanilac County, Michigan, United States. Headstone inscription: 67y 9m 22d. His wife Sarah is buried next to him. [1]
