Biography

William Rounsefell was born in Cornwall, England.

William was baptized 25 September 1860 in Padstow, Cornwall. He was the son of John Rounsefell and Mary Williams.[1]

He was enumerated in his parents' household on Cross Street in Padstow in the 1861 census,[2] and with his widowed mother in 1881, when he was working as a ship's carpenter.[3]

He married Engaria Kendall, daughter of William and Betsy Kendall, 15 October 1888 in Padstow.[4] They had three children together:

  1. William Rounsefell, (1889-1961)[5]
  2. Alfred John Rounsefell, (1890-1965)[6]
  3. Beatrice Rounsefell, (1891-1963)[7]

By 1891, they had moved to Kent,[8] and by 1911 to Devon, where he worked as a shipwright at the government dockyard.[9] He died on 14 February 1919 in Plymouth.[10] His will was probated on 2 April 1919 in Exeter to his widow Engaria.[11]
