Here is my family tree.
Katrina was awarded the Golden Achievement Milestone for at least one sourced profile tracked every month since you received the Sourcerers Badge in the 2023 Sourcerers' Project Sourcerers' Challenge.
Katrina (Rounsefell) Lawson participated with the Toddlin' Tortoises during the 2024 Source-a-Thon, adding sources to 26 previously unsourced profiles.
I was first interested in my family history as a teenager, when my parents and grandparents told me their family stories. It wasn't long until I became the designated "family historian," meaning: anything remotely related to family history got "dumped" on me. Not that I minded, of course.[1]
I have not had any professional genealogical training, though I intend to—some day.
I had worked on a Rounsefell One-Name Study for a time, but haven't revised it recently.
The main surnames I focus on are:
Rounsefell: originally Cornish, but now also found in North America and Australia
DeWolf: the Canadian lines
Thompson: from County Antrim, Ireland to Canada
Lingle/Lingel: Palatine migrants to Pennsylvania.
Sunday/Sontag: Pennsylvania, Kansas, Oregon
Hoagland: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Oregon

Hi Katrina, I hope 2024 has been a good year for you :) Here is the link to the newest G2G question: US Civil War December 2024/January 2025 Newletter. You'll find several links there, especially the link to our Connect-a-Thon Connect-a-Soldier tie-in for January 2025. Also, just for fun, you might like to share a family tradition or favorite recipe with the group :)
In case you were wondering, in January of 2024 you connected 1 soldier, here's the link to the January 2025 Sign-up Sheet.
Thank you very much for your excellent contributions and formatting to the profile of T. Edward Rand (Rand-2413). It's so easy to create a profile and then life gets in the way and one doesn't get back to the profile for months on end.
I really appreciate your work on this profile and will study your formatting so I can do a better job in future!

Hi, Katrina, thank you for choosing to sign up with the Toddlin’ Tortoises for the 2024 Source-a-Thon. If you have not already checked our space page for your bib number, you may wish to do that before the thon begins just in case you win a prize. (Remember, there is only a short window of opportunity to claim those prizes before the next drawing occurs.)
Remember, too, that when adding your sources to not simply refer to a family tree on Ancestry, or FamilySearch, but to verify the sources attached to such pages and use the citation provided (FS) or generate your own (Ancestry – WikiTree Sourcer is a great tool for that, as it also creates a sharing link).
Don’t forget – one profile equals one point, not multiple edits for multiple sources on the same profile. Also – unlike the Connect-a-Thon – ‘’’this’’’ thon requires you to click the tracker button to record your edits.
Most important of all – remember to eat and hydrate properly, and ‘’’HAVE FUN’’’.
Once again it is time for our annual Ireland Project check-in.
1. Would you like to continue as a member of the project?
2. Do you have any suggestions for project priorities in the next year?
3. Do you have any interest in taking a more active role in the project and, if so, what might you be interested in doing?
A response to the check-in is one of the project’s few requirements for all members. Please either post a reply below or send me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll assume your interests have changed and you no longer have time to participate in the project.
Thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and to the Ireland Project.
Yes I would like to continue as a member. I haven't been as active in the last half of the year as I was in the first, but I expect as it gets closer to winter, I'll be doing more for the group. I have been trying to a day out every other week to focus on Ireland-related Data Doctor work.
Thank you for participating in the December 2023 USBH Connecting Challenge and helping us create 6214 profiles. We created a total of 46,036 profiles for the year. We met our 2023 goal of 250k profiles and finished out the year with 168,195!
You can see your personal 2023 total and your all time 2021-2023 total on the 2023 tab here: our tracking spreadsheet.
Hi Katrina, there were 27 members who signed up to Connect Soldiers during the 2024 January Connect-a-Thon, which resulted in 367 soldiers being connected to family. We beat last years score by 67 soldiers. Thank you for participating :)

Hi Katrina, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a marvelous New Year.
The Annual US Civil War January Challenge is to connect US Civil War Soldiers for the January Connect-a-Thon. This year will be a twist of what I usually do. Instead of you choosing a "Surname Letter", you will be choosing from a block of soldiers whom I've already screened that show they have family to connect. Each soldier has a connection to one or more of his immediate family--parents, siblings, spouses, children, on their profile. Whether you work on one soldier or your whole block of soldiers, it's one step closer in our goal to connect each of our US Civil War Soldiers. The goal is to make sure all these soldiers are connected at least by one or two degrees. You can sign up now by clicking this link: US Civil War Sign-up Chart
Thank you for participating in past Thons as a member of the Toddlin' Tortoises. If you decide to participate again in January's upcoming Connect a Thon, the registration this time will be somewhat different. (You can read about it here.) We would love to have you join us again, but whatever team you decide to join will be lucky to have you!
We have finished the Shiloh National Cemetery by working together as a team. We added over 1,219 Soldiers to Wiki. THANK YOU for all the time, research and teamwork you gave to our September Challenge!!!
