Walter Rouse lived in Bluff, Southland, New Zealand.

Walter Rouse was born in about 1842. [1]
Walter Rouse married Mary Eliza Hayes in 1878.[2]
The couple had five children. Louise Winifred was born in 1879.[3] William James was born in 1883.[4] Herbert Francis was born in 1885.[5] Beatrice Mary was born in 1888.[6] Walter was born in 1890.[7]
His wife Mary was committed to the Seacliff Lunatic Asylum in 1891. [8]
While working for New Zealand Loan and Mercantile in Bluff, he was struck in the lower abdomen by a bail of cornsacks he was unloading. Unfortunately this incident resulted in internal injuries and he died on 27 January 1908. [8] [9] [10] He was buried in Bluff Cemetery. [11]
