Birth & Upbringing: Born 1944 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Family: He married Sandra and together they had three children.
Education: Paul completed his education at Frank Johnson Primary School and Lord Malvern High School, Salisbury.
Military Service: He joined the Rhodesian Light Infantry straight from school and was a member of the Regimental Police. He served in the regimental for three years. The BSA Police was very much a para-military service and was the nation's first line of defense. Young policemen were thus thrust into armed conflict during the insurgency of the later 1960's and the decade which followed. Those who appear on the BSA Police Roll of Honour (War) are afforded full military honours in the true sense.
Occupation: Paul was a farmer by occupation, post military service and worked for two years as a farm assistant in the Horshoe Block, Sipolilo, before buying Riviera Farm in Centenary. He was also a part-time policeman - joined the BSA Police Reserve in ; Reg. No. 17495Q; served until February 1974. He volunteer for PATU almost immediately he joined the Police Reserve..
Demise: Killed in action - contact and engagement with enemy while serving as a Field Reservist in Centenary (Operation Hurricane). . Died from gunshot wounds received in a follow-up contact on Nieuveld Farm, Centenary District, in hot-pursuit of terrorists who shot and killed Mr and Mrs Fletcher the day before.
