Research Notes

Benjamin Rouse Census Records

It is highly unlikely that he was the son of Lydia Macomber who was the daughter of Abiel and Rest Macomber for the following reasons:

  • She married Daniel Anthony in 1798 in Dartmouth. At that time she was not referred to as having the last name of Rouse.
  • She would have been 14 at the time of a marriage to Simon.
  • She was a member of the Dartmouth monthly meeting, not the New Bedford monthly meeting.
    • After much research of Lydia Macomber, the statements above are correct. I removed Lydia Macomber as the mother.
